How does therapy dough work?
Therapy Dough uses the benefits of aromatherapy to provide stress relief, reduce anxious thoughts, and calm overactive minds. As you squeeze, squish, and knead the therapy dough, the calming scent is slowly released through the hands into the blood stream, working to lower cortisol levels—our main stress hormone.
WHAT I KNEAD stress relief dough relies on aromatherapy, a holistic healing treatment that uses natural scents to improve physical and emotional health. Aromatherapy has been scientifically researched and proven to provide a myriad of health benefits—including pain management, improved sleep, and reduced stress and anxiety.
How do you use therapy dough?
Similar to a stress ball, WHAT I KNEAD stress relief dough also supports the natural urge to fidget while stressed and anxious. Pinch, squish, and knead the non-toxic dough when your mind needs a break—whether it’s while you’re working, reading, or watching TV. The longer you knead, the stronger the benefits of the tension release process and essential oils.
How does it compare to a normal stress ball?
WHAT I KNEAD (100g) is about the size of an average stress ball when rolled into a ball. It can be squished and squeezed while in your hands or pinched and pressed once returned to the jar. It can also offer stress relief on-the-go—simply toss it in your purse, pocket, or backpack and pull out the jar whenever you need it. Just opening the jar and smelling the aromas can already create a sense of calm.
How is WHAT I KNEAD different from other therapy doughs ?
We buy our essential oils only from ethical manufacturers who do not add any harmful chemicals. Our final product is a therapeutic grade therapy dough, not a dough which is infused with scented oils or fragrance oils. Additionally each WHAT I KNEAD dough comes with an audio meditation and reflective questions, supporting you to work on your kneads. This, for the same price as other doughs.
How long will it last before drying out?
WHAT I KNEAD does not arrive in a completely airtight container. This is to ensure that it does not get too sticky. If you put your dough back into the container after use, it should last for several months. Taking care of the dough is like taking care of your own 'kneads' - so you may find that based on your own body chemistry and preferences, you want to add a bit of oil to soften, or a bit of flour, to firm up the dough.
